Interviews: Illvsionia
In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Post-Hardcore/Rock band Illvsionia, from Canada. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Our vocalist Lyra came up with a name of this fictional place where everything you can imagine becomes real, and also thought the combination of the letters looked interesting - and it became our band name!
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
It is the only one that resonates with all of us in such a strong way. We all like so many different types of music, but aggressive, heavy music is one thing we can agree on.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Our guitar player and bass player, Jad and James, have known each other since they were 9. We met Lyra and Josiah through the Toronto music scene, we all clicked and haven't looked back since.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Lyra: The Contortionist
Jad: Protest the Hero
Josiah: Dance Gavin Dance
James: Veil of Maya
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
The Universe, as well as each other (we are very close).
6. Where was your last gig?
We were all in a previous band together and I believe that last show was opening for A Skylit Drive at Sneaky Dee's or Protest the Hero at Hard Luck in Toronto. We will be performing as Illvsionia mid-November, after our album drops.
7. Where would you like to act?
Europe, especially Germany and England.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Bieber.
9. Whom not?
We're all pretty open minded, so there isn't anyone we would automatically dismiss.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Occasionally but it has never stopped us from performing at our best. Keep playing if you screw up. No one cares as much as you do if you hit the wrong note.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Northlane, Periphery, The Contortionist, Issues, Chon, Veil of Maya.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Our home addresses. A lock of hair.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They're all lovely, smart people and we're grateful to have people who care about our art.
14. What do you think of our site?
It's awesome! We're happy sites like yours are around supporting the core community, and we're grateful to be featured on it.
