Interviews: Mirage

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Melodic Hardcore  band Mirage, from France. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

First, we wanted to find a name sounding french. The name "Mirage" was the idea of David our singer, who associate it as illusions, not visual only but the ones you can feel too. Like life, goals you try to reach, sometimes so close, and then too far away from you. Like people you care about that life seperates from you until oblivion, like nothing was real. 

We chose "Mirage" because this is what we stand for, we don't want it to be the illusion it could be or should be for society that keep us from dreaming.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Because we like breakdowns of course ! We think that it's, currently, what suits us the most. It's the best way to express what we feel.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

David and Adrien both shared the stage in different bands in 2011 with While She Sleeps and didn't know each other until the birth of the band. Adrien and Antoine were in the same grade in Highschool but haven't played music together until now. Stephane and Adrien met each other at a metal show in Lyon.  Guillaume joined us quickly after the release of our first single.

That's a small world we're living in, Guillaume knew the David's roomate and contact the band to show us his interest.

The family was complete!

4. Each band member favourite band? 

David : Bring Me The Horizon

Adrien : Architects

Antoine : Devin Townsend Project 

Guillaume : Tool 

Stephane : Structures

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Highs and lows in our lives, what we, and surely many people, are going through every day.

Our first EP will talk about doubts and self fighting to move forward.

6. Where was your last gig? 

At Antoine's inebriated birthday party in August 2016, it wasn't really planned but still... Our best gig so far ! 

7. Where would you like to act? 

EVERYWHERE ! It's a dream for us to see the world, meet people and share with those who want to listen. 

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Bands that inspire us, friends, or any band that want a collaboration.

As we told before, music is, to us, a passion to share.

9. Whom not? 

No one. We think that every experiences might be open minding. The genre doesn't matter. A lot of bands have practiced unexpected combinations, Enter Shikari is a very good exemple, and it's always been great!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Like everyone else, but you have to pull yourself together and just let it go, you're here for that, you worked for that, you know what you have to do. 

It's not a Tea Party, "on est pas la pour enfiler des perles !" as we say in France.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Our inspirations are Counterparts, Heart in Hand, not forgetting Architects and Northlane, which are both, to us, shepherds to follow. We dream to share the stage with them someday.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We don't have weird things to relate, for now. 

13. What do you think of your fans? 

We got started just a few time ago, our first fans are family and friends. We've also got a pretty nice feedback from Russia. Our friend Kristina from Moscow even took the time to make a beautiful fan art for us, we didn't expect it. 

But ultimately we'd like to consider them all as friends too !

14. What do you think of our site? 

Your site is really great, and very helpful for bands to get some coverage even for us to discover new bands.

15. Something to add?

We can't wait to record our first EP, November 12th and share our work ! We hope you'll enjoy it. This is the first step to a great story, our story !
