Interviews: Greywyrm

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Deathcore band Greywyrm, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Greywyrm means to become stronger out of struggle. Loosely based on the name of the character from Game of Thrones "gray worm" who has a terrible child hood and a dark past but when asked If he would change it he refuses because he believes his hardships have made him who he is. Our EP '1230 Rose Fair' is about our drummers struggles with PTSD & addiction due to domestic issues growing up. Like gray worm, he believes he is who he is because of his past and if given the opportunity, he would not change it. 

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We are angry. We like to play heavy music because it's the best genre to release emotion while playing. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We have all been friends for years and we all met through music. Dylan and Dabai were in a local Houston band called 1972 and David and Travis met Dabai when they played together in a band called In Pursuit. 

4. Each band member favourite band?

Dabai: The Acacia Strain

Travis: Dealey Plaza

Dylan: Full of Hell

David: earth wind and fire

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Real, raw, emotion. Life. The past. Nightmares. 

6. Where was your last gig?

Walters in Houston 

7. Where would you like to act?

Any intimate venue without stage barriers. 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?      

All those bands from #4

9. Whom not?  

We're open minded enough to share the stage with anyone 

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No Stage fright. 

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

The Acacia Strain, knocked loose, full of hell, Dealey plaza, varials, traitors, the contortionist, thy art is murder, Kublai khan, desolated. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

No comment

13. What do you think of your fans?

They're angry and we like that.

Love what you guys do for heavy bands.

We're from Houston TX. We are releasing our EP '1230 rose fair' soon. It's angry, dark, real, emotional, energetic & depressing.
