Interviews: Orbit Culture

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metal band Orbit Culture, from Sweden. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I remember it was very late at night and we had gone through a lot of different names during some weeks. So, in slight frustration we used a simple band name generator online with us choosing the word 'Orbit' and the generator generating the word 'Culture' for us. Then we just went with it. Now we hate it, Haha.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

For the aggressiveness and energy, I'd say. There's something speaking to you in metal that no other genre can provide, for me at least. It would be a lie to you tell you that all we're listening to is metal, but this kind of music creates a great feeling within us. Also, we don't know how to play anything else, Haha.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, we all got introduced by people outside of the band. Our old guitarist Maximilian knew Markus, our drummer, way before I did but I got know Maximilian through a friend of mine and so forth. I got to know Richard when I recorded his old band and Richard knew Fredrik so that’s how it came to be.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Niklas: Metallica, Gojira, Behemoth
Richard: Whitechapel, Architects, Slipknot (Early days)
Fredrik: Lamb Of God, In Flames
Markus: Meshuggah, Gojira, Whitechapel

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It could be anything. Everything from a walk outside to a ten hour-writing session in front of the computer. There never goes a day where we don't think about creating or playing music in some way and that can both inspire you but also wear you out. Lyrically, our main topic now has been living with anxiety and that sort of thing. So, it's not hard that writing about something you through yourself in real life. It's therapy.

6. Where was your last gig?

In Eksjö, our hometown, way back in 2015.

7. Where would you like to act?

Germany would be fun. A small trip to Great Britain would also be cool. But it does not matter really, we're just hungry to play wherever we can.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

If I'm going to dream big, it has to be with Gojira. Joe in particular for me. I can't imagine what the experience would be like. To see him writing, working and doing his thing.

9. Whom not?

Hard to say, never thought of it in that way.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

All the time. Every gig. However, a small trip to the bathroom, one beer and you're ready to go.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Metallica, Gojira, Meshuggah, Lamb of God, Behemoth and so many others.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing weird yet, but I guy sent us some photos of cats a while back. And we're just; nice cats.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Great! If I forgot to mention what inspires you to write new music; it's mainly the fans. Our small group of people following us has been awesome since the start.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's great. Keep it up. I know a lot of bands; especially metal bands that don't get the attention they deserve. So, thank you for giving us and other bands the chance of getting heard and cared about.

15. Something to add?

Thank you for having me and don't forget to check out our stuff.
