Interviews: Short Fuse

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Hardcore band Short Fuse, from Italy. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Our name comes from a song by the hardcore band No Warning, which is precisely called “Short Fuse”. We also like the sound of the two words together, since it gives the idea of something ready to explode.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Because it gives us the chance to denounce what’s wrong in this world. Furthermore, we believe that hardcore’s values bring people together in a positive way.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Only three of us knew each other before forming the band, since we already shared another important passion -skating!- besides hardcore music. We all come from the same underground scene, anyway.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Our favourite band are Cro Mags, Have Heart, Comeback Kid, Champion and To Kill.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We are inspired in writing our songs mostly by our will to react to the world’s injustice, but never giving in to nihilism, because we believe people should carry on, whatever their life’s path is.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played our last gig on 14th January 2017 in our hometown at “Questa è Roma” Fest, which is a festival that takes place every year in Rome.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would really like to play somewhere in America, since most of our musical influences come from there.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would have really liked to feature with Bane or just to share the stage with them. Unfortunately they broke up last year, but we will keep them in the music we make.

9. Whom not?

We would definitely not like to feature with all those bands that believe hardcore to be just a musical genre and they call themselves “hardcore”, but actually they don’t have the real attitude.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Well, luckily, any of us has ever suffered from stage fright. We are not in a position to give any tip to anybody, but we would like to ensure all those who are afraid of being on the stage that they are not there to impress others; all that matters is the message conveyed by their music.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

They are -in no order of importance-, Trial, Cro Mags, No Turning Back, Have Heart, Comeback Kid, Champion, Sick of it All, Earth Crisis, To Kill.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Well, one of them once asked us how can we send out this great amount of energy during our show. This is something we can hardly explain.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We truly believe that without their support we wouldn’t even exist. They are what makes the difference and gives us the will and strength to go on.

14. What do you think of our site?

Every website or fanzine that supports the undergound scenes play an important role within the music. We also believe that is essential to give a voice even to the less famous bands, since they too have important message to convey.
