In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Hardcore/Post-Hardcore band ESTHEO, from Russia. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the Forthteller band name?

Oh, our band name came to us too spantenously. Coming back to 2013, the year our band was established, we decided to create a name, that should have sound laconically and catchy at the same time. As we know, every genius idea appears suddenly, so this happened to us. As i remember, "Estheo" came to our minds at the local party. It sounds so stupid, but i swear, it's absolutely true. I know that someone would be likely to beat me after this words, but our band name has no sense originally haha.

2. Why did you want to play this genre??

It's difficult to say directly, because every member of our band was inspired too much by the bands like More Than Life, Worthwhile and etc. and once we met together to play something similar to the music we listened at those times.

3. Did you know each other before you started the band?

Two months before the band was established, I got acquainted with our bass guitarist Vladeе during my alcoholic trip to Bulgaria haha :) and after that trip we met together in Saint-Petersburg to establish a band and find other musicians to play music we wanted to play. Just a destiny!

4. Each band member favourite band?

Me (vocals): Vacant Home, Hotel Books

Ilya (guitar): Intervals, Heart in Hand

Vladee: Our Last Night, Tripsitter

Misha: Converge, Baptists

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Not sure about my lads, but personally, i don't need a special inspiration to start writing music. Every little thing and casual experience can inspire me. (And drugs for sure) :)

6. Where was your last gig?

Oh, it was april 2016, that day we shared stage with Tripsitter from Austria. We had some problems, 'cause our drummer left the band in March, so we asked our friend to play with us, but it wasn't the only problem. A week before gig, our guitar player Ilya had to spend some time in hospital, so we didn't know what to do, we couldn't cancel the gig, so we started to ask our friends again to play with us......

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere, the place doesn't matter, the first thing for us it's ability to play our music for our friends and listeners.

8. Whom would you like to feature with in your next album/single/EP?

If we speak about CIS region, then it would be Roma from Environs, speaking about the whole world, I would name Tom from Casey and Joshua from Crooks.

9. Whom not?

Difficult to name someone definetely, but i can definetely say that we won't cooperate with pop-singers or rappers. We're too metal for this shit haha.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Each of us had an experience to play on stage before we started to play gigs, so we didn't have many problem with it, and we think it's normal to be worried just before coming on stage, but in the moment you take your guitar – you can feel that everything goes well and you are likely to forget about everything. Just let the music lead you.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

It's kinda difficult question, i think the first bands that inspired us to play music were Silverstein, Sarah Where Is My Tea, More Than Life and etc. but today we don't need someone to inspire us.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for after a show?

Some fans always ask us to play our first song "not a kind of treasure", we love this song for sure, but today when we feel ourselves getting older and more serious, we don't want to be associated with the song without any serious message.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We will always be grateful to our fans and listeners for their support, kind words and everything that they do for us!

14. What do you think of our site?

Obviously, you're doing a good job promoting young musicians, it's very important thing we think, 'cause u can't move ur music to people without platforms for new bands and musicians.

15. Something to add?

We want to thank you for reading it and staying tuned, we will try to release some new music soon and we can definitely say that it's gonna be grandly!
