News: OWEL PREMIERES "TOO YOUNG TO FALL IN LOVE" VIDEO VIA POPMATTERS

OWEL is now premiering a new music video for "Too Young To Fall In Love", directed by Red Penn Media, via PopMatters. The song comes from the band's latest full-length, dear me, which is out now on Equal Vision Records.

"I think the concept for this video may have come as a side effect of binge watching Black Mirror. I wanted to convey this idea of how technology has shaped our human interactions, without actually showing technology in the video," notes vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Jay Sakong. "I thought the picture frames would be a good representation of that. We see two people who are willing to interact and invest emotion into 2-dimensional images of each other, but in the end when they are left with the reality of the other human being, they can't even look each other in the eye."

dear me was co-produced by Sakong and Gates’ vocalist Kevin Dye, and is available now on all digital retailers, at owelband.merchnow.com, at Youtube.com/equalvision and at all upcoming tour dates.

Featuring delicate, dreamy vocals with lush five-part harmonies, elegant string arrangements and a tasteful touch of electronic elements throughout, the band has created a truly stunning sound that is all their own on dear me, which simultaneously feels classic and modern. Dramatic crescendos and dynamic soundscapes weave behind ethereal vocals, gracefully leading listeners on a phenomenal sonic journey of reflection, curiosity and contemplation. dear me is the follow-up to Every Good Boy (EP, 2015) and the band's debut, self-titled full-length (2013).

The New Jersey-based indie outfit is on tour now with their labelmates in A Lot Like Birds, along with Household and Hearts Like Lions. All upcoming tour dates can be found below. To date, OWEL has shared stages with the likes of Minus The Bear, Foxing, American Authors and performed at festivals such as Gentlemen of the Road, CMJ, SXSW, and Northside Festival. The band has also been noted as a band to watch by Pitchfork, NPR, Grantland, Noisey and more.
