News: Playing To Vapors release music video for the hypnotic indie/math-pop single "Switchblade"

Columbus-based quintet Playing To Vapors has released the first single and official music video from their forthcoming debut album Shred The Master Design, premiering with Idobi Radio. The song "Switchblade" is an indie/math-pop jam about being young and impressionable, and finding it difficult to know who to trust. The video (shot by Chance Duffy) captures the raw and frenetic energy of the track, using stimulating visual effects that make you wanna dance...and maybe check the contrast on your laptop.
"The writing process for this song was very collaborative," says vocalist Lucas Harris. "It started as a guitar riff, and each member continued to add to the song until it grew into not only 'Switchblade,' but also into the next track, 'Answers.' I think this song serves as a centerpiece for the record as a whole, both in sonic aesthetic and meaning."
Shred The Master Design was produced by Josh Antonuccio at 3 Elliot Studios in Athens and is the first time the band has ever recorded to tape. The full-length is a follow-up to their 2015 EP A Glitch in a Void, which helped them land a slot on the Bunbury Music Festival where they opened for acts such as The Black KeysThe Avett Brothers, and more.
Shred The Master Design will be released on all digital retailers on June 16th. It is available now for pre-order on Bandcamp and includes and instant download of "Switchblade."
