Interviews: Fear And Wonder

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore band Fear And Wonder, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Nate and I(Albert) use to jam this great black metal band called Dimmu Borgir all the time. On one of their old records they had a piano interlude song called “Fear and Wonder” and the name always spoke to me as a great way to describe music that makes you feel so many emotions. Sure enough it became our band name. We thought it fit us perfectly.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

I think the best part about creating the type of music we make is that we never feel like we have any boundaries. We can get groovy and vibe out on one song with a lot of emotion and then turn around and punch you in the face with one of our heavier metal songs. It’s just a lot of fun.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Me(Albert) and Nate Gilbert grew up together and I met everyone else through shooting music videos for their band’s and playing in the music scene. We’ve all come from different bands to play in this one together.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Albert: Underoath
Brad: As Cities Burn
Nate: Intervals
Esteban: Ghost Atlas
Carlos: Deftones

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

This will sound odd but we always draw inspiration from anything we feel we have never created before. We feel strongest when we feel like we are doing something we have never done before. It’s exciting and drives us.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was Vans Warped Tour in 2016. We had won the Play Warped Live contest for the Houston date. We opened up the main stage. We took a break immediately after to focus on finishing the album and making sure it was perfect.

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere we can. We all love to play our music live so we take any chance we can get.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We just had Trevor Wentworth from Our Last Night feature on our latest release “The Only Way”. It was our first time to feature a guest vocalist and it went very well. I personally would like to feature my favorite vocalist ever Spencer Chamberlin from Underoath on a song that would be insane!

9. Whom not?

Not sure! haha.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I don’t think anyone in the band has any sort of nervousness to them. I think what will always conquer that is confidence in your performance which comes through practice. Running through the motions even laying in bed running through the sets really helps!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For me bands like Underoath, The 1975, One Ok Rock, Our Last Night. Bands like that all leave such an impression on your mind. When you want a certain sound or flavor you know where to go.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I was asked to sign a tattoo once and when he showed me his tattoo it was our band name! We were blown away.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are so committed I always remember the fans that have been with us since the birth of the band and they are still attending our shows and buying our new music all these years. We love them.

14. What do you think of our site?

We love the fact that you guys are based in Spain! We have a lot of latin members in our band so shout out to all our fans in Spain!

15. Something to add?

Please keep up with the band on our social media to know when our new full length album pre-orders will be dropping. Thank you Breathing The Core for the interview!
