Interviews: For The Win

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Post-Hardcore band For The Win , from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Our name was created pretty quickly when we first started the band, it was influenced by our interest in sports and how the name was fitting for the style of music. It felt like a funny and odd name but we went with it because when we started we had no idea that the band would take us where we are today. 

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We we're all really into pop punk music at that time really heavily, even before the band of course, but I was inspired and influenced by Set Your Goals, ADTR, and Four Year Strong and so was everyone else and also some other bands. We loved the fun sing a longs, gang chants, and fast punk beats and that’s what really drove us to play that style. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Yes, We all grew up playing music and going to shows together in the San Diego music scene. Gio and I (Kyle) grew up playing baseball together and went to school together so we knew each other before we started music together.

4. Each band member favourite band?

We all enjoy different styles of music, but collectively we can say some of our favorite tunes in rock music would have to be ADTR, Four year strong, Blink, Anberlin, Yellowcard, and Underoath.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Real life events, love and loss with others, the feeling you get when you are creating a song, and also to have fun with the live show.

6. Where was your last gig? 

The Nile Theater in Arizona.

7. Where would you like to perform?

All over! We would love to make it to Japan! 

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

We are shooting to open for some bigger acts when our record is released, so anyone who is on that bigger level. We have some good friends in a band called in her own words that we always love touring with, those are the boys!

9. Whom not? 

No one!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Stage fright still happens to anyone who performs and puts their heart on a stage in any sort of art form, ask any bigger act. If you're not nervous or excited, something is wrong!

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

The good ones!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

To take a photo of them after asking me a handful of questions.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

Love them and thank them so much for the support.
