Interviews: Above Our Instinct

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore band Above Our Instinct, from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Nabil: I was thinking what to call our band i wamted it about reaching your goals and i looked it up on dictionary to find another word to use and Instinct came up and thought above our instinct sounds good.   

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We are all huge fan of metal and listened to this genre a lot and influenced us to play this style.  

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We have all met through facebook.   

4. Each band member favourite band?

Nabil: Attack Attack and Oceans Ate Alaska       

Dec: Our Last Night.       

Gary: The Color Morale, Attila, Crown The Empire and For All Those Sleeping   

Sam: Wage War and Oceans Ate Alaska.   

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

A lot of the stuff we write about is mainly based on issues  we had in past and emoticons on how we are feeling, music helps us let out our emotions.   

6. Where would you like to act?

We would love to play on warped tour or download festival some day!  

7. Whom would you like to feature with?

In terms of vocals we would love to collab with Caleb Shomo from Beartooth!  

8. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Our advice for stage fright is make sure you drink something alcoholic or non alcohlic before you go on stage so you will feel more confident   

9. What bands have inspired you the most?

Dec: I'd say for it me it's Our Last Night cause of the way they have done everything themselves without a label or anything.  

Nabil: For me it is Of Mice & Men because i always enjoyed listening to their music a lot and i looked up to their ex frontman Austin Carlile as a role model which motivated me to do Vocals for our band.   

Sam: My inspiration is Austin Carlile because of his perseverance against marfans. I can relate to him as a musician and a person.  

Gary: Wil Francis/Andy Leo from CTE & Aiden they're the reason I play music today and the reason I've been blessed to play so many gigs/stages over the years.

10. What do you think of your fans?  

It is great that we have fans around the world and it means a lot to us that they listen to our music  we are really grateful for them because we wouldn't be anywhere without them!

We think breathing the core website is awesome!!
