Interviews: The Wax

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Hardcore/Metal band The Wax, from Spain. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I’ve always been fascinated by Wax Museums and the people who are exhibited there. The name came out of this.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We listen to a lot of different genres and we like to think our music is the result of that.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, Richi and Aitor played football (soccer) some time ago. They also played together in different musical projects but they finally decided to start a project and play the music they always wanted to play. Then, Angel, Xavi and David joined the band to make a tribute concert playing covers of famous bands. We chose Deftones. Then we started writting our own songs.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Aitor: (Deftones)
David: (Chelsea Wolfe)
Angel: (Every Time I Die)
Xavi: (Tool)
Richi: (Architects)

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Many things: movies, books, music from other artists, people close to me and my daily routines.

6. Where was your last gig?

In El Sielu, Manresa. Near our hometown with our people.

7. Where would you like to act?

Any place that would allow us to play, really. Although, it would be nice to play in the States or Japan for exemple.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I don’t know,.. Deftones, Nine inch nails, Tool, Radiohead or A perfect Circle
would be awesome.

9. Whom not?

Nothing to answer...

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really. Sometimes you get a little nervous but you just have to take a breath and count to 5.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For me (Aitor), all started with Nirvana and Kurt Cobain. These are my fundation. Then came others like Deftones or most recent bands like The Chariot. I’ve always been attracted to intense and electrifying perfomances and these spirit of freedom rock ‘n roll has always had.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

One day we signed a guy’s nipple...

13. What do you think of your fans?

It’s good to have fans that come to your shows and buy your music. Also, it is
good to know that your music reaches to them. That your music is part of their life in some way. This is the most wonderful thing.

14. What do you think of our site?

Cool. It’s an honor being part of it. Best wishes for the future.

15. Something to add?

Thank you for the interview and keep up with the good work.
