In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Hardcore band Hostile Array, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
It took us a while to come up with the name. It comes from the idea of standing in “Hostile Array” against anything that undermines our freedom or suppresses justice.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I grew up listening to bands like Underoath, Norma Jean, and Beloved. Most of us have been playing heavy music for years, but we really just want to write music that makes us feel the way we do when we listen to the artist we grew up listening to.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Garrison and I are brothers and have been playing music together for over 10 years. We met Hector and Andrew through our local music scene. Their previous bands played with our old band several times over the years. We met Fredy through Hector while they were working at Potbelly Sandwich Shop a few years back.
4. Each band member favourite band?
It’s really hard to pick a favorites. I can’t speak for everyone else in the band, but the most influential band for me was Underoath.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
I think with such a divisive political climate in the US, this has been a big factor for us writing the way we have for this project. We feel very passionate about our message and we really tried to match our lyrics to the mood of each song.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last show was in August at Raw Ink Live in Gaithersburg, MD.
7. Where would you like to act?
Ever since I was a kid I’ve always wanted to have the opportunity to be a part of Warped Tour. If we got to do even part of the tour that would be a surreal experience for me.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
I would love the chance to work with Silent Planet. The message they bring to the scene is a breath of fresh air.
9. Whom not?
Anyone who likes to start unnecessary drama.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I don’t think any of us really get stage fright anymore. We all have been playing live music long enough that it just feels natural. The more you play, the less awkward it feels.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Underoath, Silent Planet, Norma Jean, and Architects have all influenced our writing for this project.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
I don’t think we’ve ever gotten anything too weird.
13. What do you think of your fans?
The fact that they care as much as they do about what we’re doing means the world to us.
14. What do you think of our site?
I think it’s great. We really appreciate sites like this actually giving damn about new and upcoming artist.
15. Something to add?
We just released our new video for our single “Herd Instinct”. Please check it out, and if you like it, be sure to share it with your friends.
