In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Out Of My Eyes, from France. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Well.. No, it wasn’t planned at all, as crazy as it could be Loïc (guitars) found this name while he was dreaming (haha).

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We are playing this genre because it’s "us". When we started writing our new songs, we just decided to make something more personal. It was a great decision because now we feel like our songs are more catchy and beautiful, and now people can easily sing along.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Our line-up has changed a lot since the beginning of the band, Corentin (vocals) and Loïc (guitars) are both former members. Ben entered the band just before our European tour with Shoot The Girl First. Harry was already our producer, at Efficient Records Studios, and when we needed a new guitar played, he joined Out Of My Eyes. Thibaud was the only one we knew before the band, he previously worked with us, recording our first demos, and now he is our drummer.

4. Each band member favorite band?

There is a lot of great bands…

Corentin (vocals): While She Sleeps

Harry (guitars): The Weeknd

Loïc (guitars): Architects

Ben (bass): Within The Ruins

Thibaud (drums): Periphery

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We’re all inspired by different bands. Harry worked a lot on our samples (he actually writes all the trap parts and samples) before he entered the band, influenced by pop and trap genres ($uicide Boy$, The Weeknd, Denzel Curry, Vald…) and wrote a lot of guitars, more ambiant, inspired by bands like Bury Tomorrow, Erra or In Hearts Wake. Loïc wrote a lot of heavy and powerful rhythm guitar parts and basses, influenced by a lot of bands, from Killswitch Engage to Parkway Drive, Attila, Like Moth To Flames...

6. Where was your last gig?

In Zurich, Switzerland, supporting Bad Omens, and it was a great night!

7. Where would you like to act?

We’d to play the USA, like any European band (haha)!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

That’s a good question, it would depend a lot of who you ask, but maybe Sam Carter (Architects)?

9. Whom not?

Oh this is a good question too… Maybe no one, we could actually feature with anyone from any genre!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Well… Playing on stage can be scary but it’s just playing your music in front of people asking for it! Fear is quickly replaced by adrenaline. Just be sure to be ready, you have to know your show, to be sure that your gear is ready too! If you’re using samples on stage, prepare everything before your show and check it a lot! Don’t hesitate to buy spare gear too!  Oh, and don’t be drink before going on stage (haha)!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

A lot of bands. Maybe more Architects or Stick To Your Guns, for their attitude, really inspiring people.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Maybe a girl who asked us to sign her body (haha)!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love them all, we really would like to be on stage every single moment, playing and sharing moments with our fanbase! We can’t wait to be back on the road!

14. What do you think of our site?

We really like your website, you are promoting a lot of bands, trying to let them be heard, and that’s really cool!  Thank you again for this opportunity.
