News: New Video from Envy On The Coast!

Alternative rock duo, Envy On The Coast, have released the video for “Virginia Girls”; the most recent single from their 2017 Equal Vision Records EP, Ritual. The video, which premiered with Pop Matters, is an ode to the boredom that accompanies a suburban upbringing and the resulting mischief that young adults often find themselves lost in as they cope with the frustration of feeling trapped. Ryan Hunter and Brian Byrne (the two members of Envy On The Coast) wrote the treatment for, directed, cast, shot and edited the “Virginia Girls” video. According to Byrne, “We've had a lot of long talks about the trappings of suburbia and this song and video presented a great opportunity to visually present some of those ideas”. You can watch the video for “Virginia Girls” now and stream the whole Ritual EP on Spotify.

“Virginia Girls” was released in correlation with the announcement that Envy On The Coast will be embarking on a 4 day holiday tour of the northeastern United States this December with special guest Rare Futures and more support acts to be named later. The tour will kick off at the Middle East Downstairs in Boston on December 20th and stop in Asbury Park and Brooklyn before culminating in a hometown show at Mulcahy’s in Wantaugh, Long Island on December 23rd. All ticket info can be found here.

A statement from the band regarding the tour:

We've decided to close this year out with a short run of holiday shows on the East Coast. Our good friend Billy Rymer (Dillinger Escape Plan), who played drums on 'Ritual', will be joining us behind the kit. These will likely be our only live appearances until the spring of 2018 so come join us and our friends in Rare Futures, and Save Face as we spread some holiday cheer just in time for the apocalypse. See you there.

After a seven year hiatus, Envy On The Coast’s reincarnation is now in full swing with original members Ryan Hunter and Brian Byrne at the helm and steering the band in a new direction. The Long Island-born band released their first new album, an EP titled Ritual back in June via Equal Vision Records. The band’s lead single “Manic State Park” -  a soul-piercing track that takes the listener on a journey from delicate, melodic moments to aggressive, thrashing heights - served as a perfect introduction to the critically-acclaimed rebirth EP for the band. Ritual was co-produced by Mike Sapone (Taking Back Sunday, Brand New) and Ryan Hunter and is available everywhere.
