News: Speaking With Ghosts Drops New Single "Uncrowned"

Speaking With Ghosts is back with the second single off their upcoming full length Illuminated - out November 17th. The hard hitting follow up to Woven In Gold is premiering now via Ghost Killer Entertainment

Uncrowned brings more of the band's signature metalcore sound that fans of The Ghost Inside,Kingdom of Giants, and Fit For A King will be sure to love. Beyond the aggression and energy driven by the instrumental, there is an emotional message of optimism: "Keep breathing. You'll find a way to live through this if there's meaning".

Vocalist Ryan Wilmot shared his thoughts about the new single:

"Uncrowned was probably the most difficult content-wise to write for me. At the time of recording, I was at my absolute lowest I’ve ever felt. I couldn’t get a hold of people back home and let myself get consumed by a panic state. I almost completely lost my ability to talk from being sick going into recording the last few songs. Each take I did ended with a sharp pounding headache. However, I forced myself to take all that in and push forward. The song is a more mature continued thought from our previous song, “Enemy". My mother left my family a while back and I’ve been dealing with my fair share of issues since. I still had pent up resentment and needed to get it out. The chorus, however, is me talking myself through the bad times. Like I said earlier, when I recorded this song I was extremely upset and I just made the chorus as a reminder to myself to just breathe. Emotionally, it's a really mean song but has a positive message underneath it and we think it'll really resonate with people."
