Interviews: STRAIGHT OPPOSITION

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Hardcore band STRAIGHT OPPOSITION, from Italy. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like  that?  

Yes we planned it. The band name, it represents what we are  as well.  

2. Why did you want to play this genre?  

In this genre, we resume all our feelings as well.  

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

Yes, i can speak for my self only . In 1995, when I was young, I used came out to some hardcore shows in my hometown. I have been, for the first time to a Slapshot show, and then to a 108 show' too (and a lot of shows  later ). So my life changed and i was crazy for Hardcore.  

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Umh, we listen to a lot of different music. But I Think: Alen loves MUD a lot, I love Slapshot and Poison Idea, Vinx loves Slander and Joy Badass and Guglielmo goes crazy for Sepultura, Italian Rap and a lot more.  

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

We observe at politics and shitty social situation all around. We hate it. We wish in a change. We sing about the chance of changing, starting from ourselves and our critical reason. Reason is revolution. This will inspire us to write, for ever.  

6. Where was your last gig?  

We played last gig in a anarchist lab in Jesi, center of Italy with the Hyle ( a young female band very very cool ). Thisvwas in a sunday matinee. Very cool!  

7. Where would you like to act?  

In Spain of course! But dream comes true...next december we'll be there for 3 gigs!  

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

Umh...we love a lot of artist and band. Anyway we wish to have a feat with rappers like LouX or Colle Der Fomento or Barney Greenway from Napalm Death.  

9. Whom not?  

Everytime i look at these new rappers or hardcore kids, while they getting down hc and rap in a sort of circus, I think they are just a passing phase, so I wish to avoid every contact with them cause I despise every bullshit they said and making.  

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat  that? 

Sorry, this is a problem we have never had. Anyway, first to get on stage, It'could be better don't drink or smoke a lot, keeping mind clear and focused on what you have doing some minutes later.  

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

SO MANY, but there are bands that stills to exercise a big influence on us  like Poison Idea, Slapshot, Sick Of It All, Raw Power, Strife, Napalm Death, Suicidal,  Integrity.and all the legendary old school from 80's like black flag, dead kennedys, uniform choice and NEGATIVE APPROACH!  

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

6 or 7 yers ago, a kid wrote to us for asking the band at his birthday at home! He was serious!  

13. What do you think of your fans?  

We have all styles under the stage: hc kids, metalheads, red skins, anarco punks and rockers! This make us very proud of it!
