Interviews: Herectic's Dream

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Progressive Metal band Heretic's Dream, from Italy. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

When Andrej and I decided to set the band up, it seemed an heresy to have such a metal sound like his working right with a pop background like mine. Yet, we just wanted to keep our differences, to make the dream of overcoming metal’s rules true.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

I approached to metal in 2008, when I met Andrej. Before him, music to me was Madonna, Depeche Mode, Spandau Ballet. We did not chose the genre we wanted to play: it chose us.

We just started putting our ideas together, respecting each other, influencing each other though keeping our backgrounds well in mind.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Andrej was looking for a singer for his previous project, I had the audition and passed. That changed my life forever.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Andrej’s: Pantera
Maurilio’s: Nightwhish
Francesco’s: Children of Bodom
Federico’s: Metallica
Mine: Lacuna Coil.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Any kind of music inspires us, even rap. As long as it is a fresh new point of view, it’s a good source.

6. Where was your last gig?

December, supporting Amaranthe in Russia.

7. Where would you like to act?

In the USA.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Tesseract.

9. Whom not?

Playing with an artist is always a good think.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

April 2016, in Kiev, supporting Eluveitie, I just had a look at the crowd from the backstage and I was totally petrified by the amount of heads I saw. When we got on stage, and the same heads started keeping the beat at our music, it was the best feeling ever. I felt we were having fun all together, the band and the crowd, and it was not the usual examination the musician is subject to in Italy.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

All those who were not afraid to dare something different. Those whose sound is not driven by fashion and trends. Like Tool.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Russians are the best: they come to take pictures with you, ask for signatures everywhere, even on their bold heads, they bring you presents. A fan in Saint Peterborough waited for us outside the restaurant where we were having lunch, just for taking a picture with us and to offer us a chocolate box and a vodka. Such a nice guy.

13. What do you think of your fans?

All people who listen to music, any kind of music, are happier persons.

14. What do you think of our site?

A cool interface, always well updated on music news. Interesting interviews, a great chance to meet also underground bands. I love your T-shirts too!
