Interviews: Raise The Death Toll

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Death Metal/Deathcore band Raise The Death Toll, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We planned it as I wanted the songs and band to hold a concept which is horror movies we enjoy. Raise The Death Toll is our request to horror movie directors as we enjoy the body count and special fx and creative deaths in the movies.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Tho we both enjoy all genres, the aggression of metal just seems fitting as we love to play live just as much as we record so we always want to wreck shit at the venues.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes we did, I met Gavin when I fronted the band The Unwilling Commencement in 2008 and finally got together last year in 2017 to do this band.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Philip: My changes all the times haha, I do always go back and listen to Blindside or Bleeding Through, in this genre tho lately I'd say Lorna Shore, Shadow Of Intent and Analepsy.

Gavin: Pathlogy and Necrophagist

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Philip: For me with this project whatever particular movie I decide to write a short story on.

Gavin: Seeing local bands that I really enjoy always inspires me to write and create better material, just the drive and motivation to keep up with them

6. Where was your last gig?

Last gig was for our music video at one of our local bars called Babylon. We have 3 lined up so far in 2018 with Knocked Loose and Nile.

7. Where would you like to act?

Right now anywhere that'll have us really. Would really like to break into Texas and Florida

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We have 2 features for our first ep and there's a few in mine for the 2nd. We don't discriminate and record ourselves so it's just having fun and collaborating.

9. Whom not?

Everyone's welcomed lol

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Philip: I still get butterflies sometimes but you have to feed off that,  often I get anxiety to because I want every thing to go right but it's metal ya know.Live in that moment and own that stage, the people in front ya are there to see a show so just lose yourself and let go and do what comes natural.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Philip: Lately I've been inspired more of the hustle and work ethics of the underground band, I love the quick rise of knocked loose and love the chart positions bands like infant annililator and shadow of intent make without being on labels and the fact that Angelmaker did a whole tour with big acts with no label.

Gavin: bands that inspire me are pathology, annotations of an autopsy and ingested

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Unfortunately no weird requests just yet haha.

13. What do you think of your fans?

So far the ones we have made have been very loyal and helpful. We won a contest due to votes to open for Deicide and that was very big for us.

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it's awesome and a great outlet for underground bands to get heard and a great source for underground news. I've seen yall promote a lot which is why I posted our music on your fb and definitely plan to check for updates when I can now.
