Interviews: Waking The Misery

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metalcore band Waking The Misery, from France. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name came from a Killswitch Engage song, they say 'waking the misery' in the song 'The End Of Heartache'  

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We choose to play that style because we used to listen Metalcore and Hardcore in our younger days.  

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Rythm guitar player, the bassist and the drummer are longtime friends. The lead guitar player has joined the band  via internet and the singer was recruited thanks to a friend in common.  

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Most of bands are the favourites for most of the members. There are Killswicht Engage, As I Lay Dying, Parkway Drive, Caliban, Linkin Park  

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Guitar riffs and drum pattern are written on rehearsals. We work on it and improvise during those sessions and the rest  is a creation from everyone between practice sessions.  

6. Where was your last gig?

In France, in a metal fest (Mennecy Metal Fest) By the way, we were honored to share the stage with other bands like  'Atlantis Chronicles'(FR), Extrema (IT) and Tagada Jones (FR)!  

7. Where would you like to act? 

In a first time around France, then around Europe. Maybe near you somedays!  

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

We made a featuring with a '25G' (french rapper) for our first upcoming Album. We are eager to make others with differents artists, we are open minded. If we could choose, maybe 'Yelawolf'.  

9. Whom not?

We don't feel anger to anybody or any music style. We don't mind play with opposites styles, reggae, pop... Our only restriction is that we would not play with others bands withracists, hostile ideas.  

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

More or less, we all have stage fright, especially on first gig. Fright in general is handled like you were getting drunk, if you don't get over it, you will screw your show. If we had a tip, it could be that one : Stay gathered with your crew, motivated. We had a WTM Tip for you : Take a shot of Jagermeister or whisky, it works!  

11. What bands have inspired you the most?    

So many... Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying for the guitars, Caliban for the bass, Linkin Park, Seether and most of all, Yelawolf for the vocalist  

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

We are not famous enough to be asked some weird stuff. The weirdest things mostly come from the band members for the vocalist,  but we won't say more! haha!  

13. What do you think of your fans?

The best ones! Receptive, loyals. They like metal, beers, dinosaurs fight! What could you expect else?!  

14. What do you think of our site?

Breathing The Core rules! You mentionned us on Facebook and we find it very rare in 2018 to see passionate guys like you without asking for money! So Thank you very F****G MUCH!!
