News: Right On, Kid Debut New Single on Substream; 'Forever Missing Out' Available February 16

"Influence from bands like I Call Fives and Forever Came Calling are abundant, but there’s something about the way Right On, Kid! is able to channel them that makes it feel fresh. The track is the kind of scathing and disapproving track that feels primed-and-ready for packed and sweaty venues full of rowdy kids and crowd-surfing."- Substream Magazine
Albuquerque, NM's Right On, Kid will release their debut 'Forever Missing Out' on February 16th. Pre-orders will be available soon at https://rightonkid.bandcamp.com.
A track off the record titled "Clarity" is debuting today on Substream Magazine.
The band is celebrating the announcement with a show supporting Fossil Youth tonight at Albuquerque's Moonlight Lounge.
Right On, Kid! had humble beginnings as an acoustic project formed in 2014 by friends Zach Rose and Nick Encinias. Zach and Nick wrote several songs and performed at various shows around Albuquerque. Their style was a catchy pop punk flavor, raw and unapologetic. Gaining attention and popularity the guys decided to put together a full band and added a drummer and added to their visibility in the local underground music scene.
In the summer of 2015 ROK added RJ Butler on lead guitar and Tieler Cooper on bass guitar. As a full 5 piece band the group began writing music for their debut EP “On The Brighter Side of Things”, released in April of 2016. The group toured the Southwest and Northwest in support of the new album.
In the Fall of 2016 the original drummer left the band and the guys added Elijah Pomerleau to handle the driving pop punk rhythms for the band as they began to write music for the next EP. While the band’s first EP was flavored more like the past music of their Pop Punk influences, the upcoming album shows off their own unique style and addition to the mainstream genre.
Recorded in the studios at Duke City Sound in Albuquerque their sophomore Album ”FOREVER MISSING OUT“ includes pre-production by David Dominguez (Weezer, The Offspring, GnR, Queen Latifah, and Stained), Mixed by Seth Henderson (Knuckle Puck, Sleep On It, Belmont, Hold Close) Mastered by Kris Crummet (Knuckle Puck, Dance Gavin Dance, Slaves, Sleeping With Sirens) .
ROK has shared the stage with: Eve 6, Hawthorne Heights, Secondhand Serenade, Ronnie Winter of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, MEST, Handguns, End This Year, Forever Came Calling, Hundreth, Like Pacific, Life Lessons, Sundressed, Hotel Books, Cardboard Swords & Gold Steps among others. The band played the Full Sail Stage of 2017 Warped Tour in Albuquerque.
