News: THE ROCKET Releasing new single “Chain Reaction” from upcoming album!

Synth driven pop punk outfit The Rocket aims to bring a refreshing take on the classics they all grew up with. With a keen ear for infectious melodies and an illustrious live reputation, the band has played big stages such as Groezrock, Europe’s biggest punk rock festival.

After a break to pursue other musical endeavours, The Rocket is back in full effect. The new single 'Chain Reaction', produced by Marc McClusky (Weezer, Motion City Soundtrack, Bad Religion), is proof of the reinvigorated energy and ambition the quintet brings to the table.

“We’ve always loved to write it’s-all-gone-to-hell-songs disguised as happy songs. Chain Reaction definitely is one of those. We love juxtaposing cheery (cheesy?) melodies with in your face lyrics because hey, is there a better metaphor for life? Let’s pretend we’re all loving the daily grind ‘cause that makes life worthwhile, right?

All philosophical angles aside though, Chain Reaction is a track for which the basis was provided by our friend and (longtime) former band member Geoff. We built the song on his initial idea so there’s definitely more than one narrative in the lyrics, but the general gist is that when it all goes to shit, it’s easy to start blaming everything and everyone but yourself.

But more often than not, you have yourself to blame for bad things happening at least partially, and most people have a really difficult time seeing and believing that.

Chain Reaction is all about that concept in the context of a relationship. Being experts on the subject of seeing stuff turn sideways by our own wrongdoing, we figured: why not write a song about it?!” reveals guitarist Stijn.

Buckle up, because it’s only just begun. The band's new album will be out in April 2018!
