Interviews: ALKEMY

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metalcore band ALKEMY from Italy. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name ALKEMY was picked by pure chance. After playing for months as a nameless band because we still hadn't found the right name, the choice fell on the brand of Filippo' s cymbals set, ALCHEMY, where the 'CH' was replaced by a  'K' to state a heavier and harder sound and feel (need to be familiar with the Italian language to get this..)

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

This genre appeals to us especially as far as rhythm and feel. We simply love to run with it. It is purely a musical choice that finds its roots in metalcore, deathcore and technical.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We've know each others since we were kids.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Nicolò (lead vocals): RINGS OF SATURN

Simon (guitar/vocals): SYSTEM OF A DOWN

Simone (lead guitar): ENTER SHIKARI

Filippo (drum): BORN OF OSIRIS

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We all give our contribution to our music and we get involved in it in a kind of chain  reaction where each one's ideas and visions melt together creating continuous inspiration.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in Brescia at Circolo Colony on 16 February.

7. Where would you like to act?

Very large audiences, of course, get you going! We'd love to go to international festivals.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

ACRANIA!

9. Whom not?

HANNAH MONTANA!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

None of us has ever been frightened to go on stage.

The tip we can give is "just keep on going be confident and relax: you just wanna have a good time and make people enjoy your performance as much as you do". Get on stage highly prepared though, never miss tryouts and do your best to ensure your performance is flawless. This is basic.

11. What do you think of your fans?

We're not THAT famous yet! But we love our fans and supporters, we owe them a great part of the enthusiasm that keeps the band alive and kicking hard.

12. What do you think of our site?

It's a good website to diffuse this genre and support bands like us.
