Interviews: Crossing The Limits

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Pop Punk band Crossing The Limits, from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I had originally pulled the line "crossing the limits" from a song I'd written, we had been searching for a name for a couple of months but nothing was fitting. I was walking home that night and it came into my head and I kept saying it out loud. I was like that’s it! That has to be the band name.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

The very first band I was in the drummer asked us all if we wanted to go to a show. It was 2008, and it was Paramore and New Found Glory at Brixton Academy. I felt the energy and the powerful feeling they were projecting. I watched this fiery red head running around the stage with no care at all, she was just lost in the music. I was hooked. I said that is what I wanna do! I love the attitude of the genre, it's punchy.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Nope! Except from Ben, I knew of the band he was in and I knew he was a great drummer. When his band called it a day I messaged him and snapped him up. It was important to me to find like-minded people who all clicked together. I am so proud to have each of the boys in this band, Dan makes me laugh all the time, Ben's dedication and excitement for the band is great, Tim keeps the calm in intense situations. You can never really fall out with Tim, he's like a puppy, and Tom is super hard working, he really helps me keep everything in check. We're a solid team.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Rach: Mine changes all the time, my go-to is The Wonder Years.

Dan: The Story so Far. I love the tones of the guitar along with experimental riffs.

Tom: State Champs, Around the World and Back is a solid album!

Ben: I've loved Don Broco for years, vocally, musically, and because they are such sound people!

Tim: He's not a band, but I really like Lil Wayne right now.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Things that I go through, intense things I feel, or things people do to me. Writing really helps me get through bad times because I'll be down over it, I'll cry over it, and then I'll start putting it all into a song. There's no greater feeling than turning something bad into something positive. If you hurt me, you can guarantee yourself a place in a song haha!

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was in Birmingham, it was the last date of a small run of shows around the UK. it was actually my favourite show of that run, the vibe and the energy was really great.

7. Where would you like to act?

I really wanna play in Scotland! I love Scotland, it's beautiful. The Scottish are really ballsy, I can imagine that being a fun crowd. We'll get there this year.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Collectively we'd love to feature with either Neck Deep or State Champs. We listen to those bands all the time! Neck Deep are really doing it for the UK.

9. Whom not?

Are you wanting me to throw a band under the bus?! Hah! There isn't anyone I can think of that we'd be like "hell no we don't wanna feature with them".

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I use to really suffer from stage fright. The first show I ever played I was frozen, I felt so awkward. Our manager at the time hooked me up with a wireless mic right before our first headline show, the place was packed and I told myself I was gonna let myself go. I went on and completely let go of that fear, I can’t tell you how great it felt. I never looked back since. If I'm being a total weirdo on stage and out of my comfort zone I hope it projects to the crowd so they can let go too.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Paramore. Their resilience to keep it moving when they've lost members etc. is amazing and inspiring. Seeing Hayley on stage in 2008 with so much confidence really inspired me. She's a legend.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We honestly haven't had anyone ask us anything weird yet! it's always weird to me when people ask for photos or to sign their ticket, but a good kind of weird.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They're friends to us, we appreciate their support so much and to see them having fun at our shows is everything! We get a bunch of messages all the time from them asking how they can help us in some way. It means the world to us!

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site is great! It is so helpful for upcoming bands to get their music out there. It’s also great for people looking to discover new bands.
