Interviews: Displacement

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metalcore band Displacement from Australia. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Dan our drummer saw the term displacement in a drum book he was working out of one day.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We are super passionate about playing heavy music and metalcore especially. We have all played in various bands over the years and have been listening to the genre for most of our lives.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Everyone in the band knew each other before we got together bar Dan our drummer, he answered an advert our guitarist Steve put up on Facebook.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Killswitch Engage, August Burns Red, Misery Signals, Stick to Your Guns, Haste the Day, Oh Sleeper, The Ghost Inside, Alexisonfire, Northlane, For the Fallen Dreams, Counterparts, Architects, Parkway Drive.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Steve has written the bulk of all our songs and Jack our vocalist writes all the lyrics. Each member has added their own flavour  to each song and given input when they can.

6. Where was your last gig?

We are playing our first ever show next week here in Perth.

7. Where would you like to act?

To tour our native Australia would be awesome, to tour Europe and America would be even better.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would be stoked to tour with Counterparts and For the Fallen Dreams, or even with our hometown buddies in Make Them Suffer and Saviour.

9. Whom not?

Daryl Braithwaite.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I personally use breathing exercises or try to make a few jokes to the lads before the set to ease tension.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For the message and the ethics that they preach as a band I would say Stick to Your Guns, you know you are going to witness not only a great live show but you will also feel so inspired in the process. Counterparts and Misery Signals as live bands leave me absolutely speechless.

12.  What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

No fans as of yet ;)

13. What do you think of your fans?

When we have them I’m sure we will love them!

14. What do you think of our site?

Such a great site, honoured to be asked to be involved.
