Interviews: Modern Error

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metal/Hardcore band Modern Error from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We wanted a name that speaks in different ways to whoever is reading it. When the discussion came around that's all we said, and the name came naturally. It's what you want or need it to be.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We began within this sound as it's what we all consumed during our youth. However, this band is a progression so feel we don’t have to dedicate ourselves to any specific sound or genre, Its whatever it needs to be at any given time. Which I think will help keep Modern Error always fresh.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Apart from me and my brother Kel, we met through the music scene in peterborough when we were younger. We've been friends since then, and when we started writing music for the new project, it all came together.

4. Each band member favourite band?

A very difficult question. I think anyone who loves music doesn't have one favourite band. But will answer the best we can.

Zak - 'Right now, i'd have to say Nine Inch Nails'.
Kel - 'Probably Dead Swans, they had the biggest impact on me, and introduced me into a different world of music'.
Connor - 'Any band from early 2000’s that got me properly into music, like Linkin Park'.
Lewis - 'Architects, they changed a lot of things in metal core etc'.
Phil - 'I'd say Architects to, because they just haven't released anything i dislike'.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Human psychology around internal and external issues, in the eyes of a specific person. We also take inspiration and get inspirited by other formats, like film/art/books etc.

6. Where was your last gig?

We are still yet to debut our live show, however we play 5 shows as part of the ‘This Is As One’ tour, dates below:

March 03 - Newcastle, Think Tank
March 06 - Nottingham, Bodega
March 07- Birmingham, Asylum
March 09 - Bournemouth, The Anvil
March 10 - Bridge End, Hobos

7. Where would you like to play?

I think America is one of the places we’ve always wanted to experience. From the outside, it looks like the perfect place to tour, with so many great bands to tour with.

8. Who would you like to play with?

If you can bring Funeral For A Friend back from the dead we would happily play with them.

9. Who not?

Not too sure on that, we’re not that specific. Maybe any bands where we really wouldn't suit the bill.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think we all have at some stage in previous bands, we are quiet anxious people. Tips for beginners is to go do it, there is nothing you can do apart from that to get over it. There is nothing worse than not allowing yourself your expression, and if you require a stage, then you need to go get on it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Anything that created a major shift in my perception and creativity. Band like, Funeral For A Friend, Dead Swans, American Nightmare, More Than Life, Health, Nine Inch Nails to name just a few.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Not sure if it's weird but a guy wanted drawings from us, we were happy to do them if we could put them in a merch order. He didn't order though.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Everyone who buys in to and becomes a part of this band gives us motivation to carry on. So, I love them.

14. What do you think of our site?

We love it! Though, it would look better in blue xx
