Interviews: Scenes We Have Missed

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Hardcore/Melodic Hardcore band Scenes We Have Missed from Turkey. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

As a group of good friends, we've been together for a long time. The ideas we share, the music we listen to and lifestyles etc. have always been similar. Unfortunately, it was time to say goodbye to each other back in 2015 when everyone slowly started to leave the hometown (Izmir) to start their university education in different cities. It was harsh to face the reality but there was nothing we can do to change the course and finally in May 2016, when we started to form the band, the name ''Scenes we have missed'' seemed very meaningful to us because not only it would be a project to remember the times we've spent together but also we were going to be able to make up the times we have spent apart.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We make melodic hardcore but actually, we never really cared about the genre when we started to make music. We were like ''let's try and see what we've got.'' and this is the result. We just wanted to express what we feel transparently, in a way which we'll feel both comfortable and disturbed at the same time.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, for years.

4. Each band member favourite band?

It's hard to pick a favorite band but here we go :

Berk (Guitar): All time favorite is Converge.

Ongun (Guitar): Brand New

Deniz (Drums): La Dispute

Bengi (Bass): Monuments

Tan (Vocals): Architects

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We were born and raised in a country that we could never truly felt relevant; living in a society that only accepts what is basic & narrow-minded and baring the filth of politicians that rule the country, it has always been a challenge to keep it going for open-minded people. The crucial flaws we see in our daily lives, endless problems that we come across and the mindset we had to build to stay strong and original inspired us to write songs, and of course a lot of bands helped us to build that mindset.

6. Where was your last gig?

At a Venue called Volume in Alsancak, Izmir.

7. Where would you like to act?

Our main goal is to be able to organize shows around Europe, U.S. and anywhere that understands and shares similar feelings. To give a precise answer: Fluff Fest (Prague) is pretty cool.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

With anyone we trust.

9. Whom not?

Sellout bands.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Deniz: I feel kinda weird on stage but I enjoy being on stage and that feeling slowly fades.

Berk: Never forget that you are one of the crowd.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Everyone in the band has their individual inspirations. Here's a short list: Amenra, Old Gray, Converge, Bring Me The Horizon (Old), Trapped Under Ice, Oathbreaker, Defeater, Every Time I Die, Chariot.....

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Some girls that came to one of our shows asked for a signature from one of our best friends and former guitarist Ataberk.

Ongun: Someone once mistaken me for Tan and told me that I am a great singer, he was probably drunk.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We don't think we really have ''fans'' out there yet but we have a lovely group of friends that support us. We make what we make not only for us but also for them.

14. What do you think of our site?

It has pretty cool features and it feels good to know that people care about music and try to provide a better environment for the bands.
