Interviews, VNDTA

In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metal/Progressive Metalcore band VNDTA, from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Our vocalist Megan had been seeing the word vendetta crop up in a lot of places and looked up the meaning. At the time the idea of a band named after revenge was perfect for the type of music we were writing. We recently changed it to VNDTA as we felt as though we’ve matured quite a bit and wanted a fresh start.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It’s what we all grew up listening too and what we find comes out naturally when playing. But most of all it’s just really fun yet challenging. It’s such a powerful genre too it can make you feel so many different things. And that’s an amazing thing to achieve through writing.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us did. Megan and Jay knew each other since they were youngsters from the local music scene. And Megan met Willem at Download Festival. But we all met Callan later on through the local scene.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Oooo it’s difficult to just pick one! But at the moment Megan’s would probably be King 810. Jays would be Veil of Maya. Callan’s is After the burial and Willems would be Emmure.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It’s different for all of us. Some of us find inspiration in just being pissed off! Whereas other find it through chilling out and writing things that are incredibly difficult to play and make you better.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was at The Phoenix in High Wycombe. We’ve never played there before but it’s a cool smaller venue. Nice and intimate.

7. Where would you like to play?

The dream venue would probably be Brixton Academy. It’s just an iconic venue.

8. Who would you like to support?

Again, there’s too many amazing bands to choose from! But Malevolence, Periphery or Thy Art is Murder would be insanely cool.

9. Who not?

To be honest we’re happy to support any hard working and honest band. No matter what type of heavy. But we won’t support anyone who promotes things that are morally wrong.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not to the point where it’s stopped is from playing! But we all get a bit nervous sometimes. The only advice really is just practise LOADS. That way if you do mess up you’re able to get back on track. And also just play as many shows as possible. Don’t leave big gaps. Then you’ll get used to it quickly.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Veil of Maya, After the Burial, Thy Art is Muder and King 810 would be our top inspirational bands right now!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

(Megan) I often get girls asking for the boy's phone numbers. To which I have to kindly let them down haha.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We’re quite overwhelmed by it and find it hard to believe we have ‘fans’. We see them all as individual people and have such a huge amount of love each and every one of them. Knowing people take the time to listen to us is incredibly humbling.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s really cool. We like how you feature bands from all over the world. Not just famous ones.
