Interviews: Cohesion

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Industrial Metal band Cohesion, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Literally came out like that. No idea where it came from or why, one day I just started using it and it made total sense.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We like to think we're Alt Metal with an Industrial twist and we don't plan on changing anytime soon! It's always so interesting to write and play, and just listen to...You have so much manoeuvrability inside and scope to still do such a variety that it never gets boring. Crank it and get chugging like a machine or just sit back and have some quiet beautiful melody in a breakdown, it's all good baby.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Kinda...two of us went to uni together...then another went after, then one was a teacher at the same uni whilst the fourth was studying...the music scene in London is actually pretty small!

4. Each band member favourite band?

Nine Inch Nails, Puscifer, Meshuggah and Metallica, probably in that order.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Anything, anyone. Our songs about getting the shit kicked out of you, falling in love, sex, having a mental breakdown and getting lobotomized; as long as it's real, and you or I or they can relate to it, hell, even aliens!

6. Where was your last gig?

The Lounge in Archway, London, sick venue with a nice stage...and a lack of bass as ours was snowed in at home in Exeter - we won't let him live that down for a while...

7. Where would you like to act?

Give us Download Main Stage any day. Or a sweaty club in Budapest, anywhere that cranks it and let's us tear the place a new one we want.

8. Whom would you like to tour with?

Who do we not want to tour with? Rob Zombie, NIN, Manson, Deftones, they're all up on our wish list!

9. Whom not?

Anyone who acts like a diva and treats their paying fans like shit. Looking at you, Axl. Then again, would that make the audience like us more? Shall take note...

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Seven's thrown up before going on stage, that was fun, she still nails it though. Smak's done too many gigs to count so never falters...but nerves can be a healthy thing. Show's that you're alive and wakes you up, you can react to it and put on a better show as you're on your toes and ready!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Personally, it's anyone who has had the guts to just do it and persevered even if it was by themselves just believing and doing what they wanted. Take NIN for example, Trent just stuck to his guns and did it, and if folk told him no he did it anyway. That takes guts.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Seven's used underwear. Next question.

13. What do you think of your fans?

What fans? We just have a few folks we harrass till they turn up at shows! Nah they're the best, some guys you can just rely on and it feels great and so supportive.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's great! Really like how you can search bands by country, had some great fun checking out Asian hardcore bands!
