Interviews: PAGANLAND

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Pagan Black Metal band PAGANLAND, from Ukraine. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Ruen: The idea of the band's name came by itself. Such things are obtained spontaneously.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Ruen: There is no other options or genres. Music comes by the call of the soul.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Ruen: Paganland - originally a project of two musicians, which eventually evolved into a full-fledged band. For today, musicians from other bands play in Paganland.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Lycane: Each musician has different musical tastes, narration will take a long time. Some of us like the old school black metal of the 90`s, some other like a symphonic and pagan black metal, some listening a Swedish melodic death metal. We are all different people, but united by one musical idea.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Ruen: Nature, mysticism of the Carpathians, our native land.

6. Where was your last gig?

Lycane: Our last concert was in Lviv - 20 years of Paganland. We did it for ourselves, it was our birthday. We shot a live video. You can watch it on our YouTube channel.

7. Where would you like to act?

Ruen: It would be interesting for us to play more gigs in Europe.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Lycane: I do not even know, we are a self-sufficient group. But it was possible to play with someone of the monsters from the Scandinavian metal scene.

9. Whom not?

Lycane: Many of whom we would not like to see, but this is all rhetoric. A lot of text will be.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Lycane: I'll tell you that even now there is a small fear, probably every musician have it. We are all somewhat unsure in ourselves, but the result is always good. If you do not do this, no one will do it for you. If you like to play gigs - fear will go out. Everything comes with practice and experience.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Lycane: I think a some influences on us were from such bands as Immortal, Emperor, Burzum, Ulver, Arcturus, Lucifugum, Nokturnal Mortum.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Lycane: I do not remember any moments, there were no strangenesses. Usually, bands are did not have normal communication with the public after a concert. This is due to the collection of equipment after show and some organization issues.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Lycane: We are glad to see our fans, thanks them for their support. Music always finds a listener.

14. What do you think of our site?

Lycane: I recently found out about your site. The ability to listen to music right on the site is a good idea. But design is too mottled.
