Interviews: Tailblock

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Emotional Hardcore band Tailblock, from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came

out just like that?

A Tailblock is a skateboard trick, it's also part of an acoustic guitar. It doesn't really make you think of a particular genre, we wanted a name like that.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I don't really know what genre we are, we kinda just play whatever songs we write regardless of what genre someone might class them as.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We were all in bands before Tailblock, and we all used to play gigs together around the same area. We're all from Dartford, and have a lot of mutual friends too.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Alexisonfire (Martyn), Deftones (Jak), The Melvins (Gary).

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Pretty much everything inspires me to right a song, mostly they're based on human interactions, conversations with friends, conversations with colleagues, good times, bad times, anything really. Most of our songs are about a bunch of different things kinda rolled into one.

6. Where was your last gig?

The Lady Luck, in Canterbury. It's a great little venue.

7. Where would you like to play?

Anywhere that'd have us really. It would be nice to play in Europe.

8. Who would you like to support?

Samiam.

9. Who not?

Michael Bolton.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Being well rehearsed is the best cure for stage fright, that and knowing all my gear is in working order.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Me personally, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure, Silverchair, Reuben, early Biffy Clyro, Prince.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Someone asked me to sign something once... that was weird.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They're legends, the most fun, and the best singers.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's very nice, I'm looking forward to hearing the Pop-punk & Pizza compilation.

15. Something to add?

Check out our new single 'Heavy Arms' on YouTube now!
