Interviews: The Beast Of Nod

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Intergalactic Death Metal/Death Metal band The Beast Of Nod, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, Paul and previous member Chris came up with the band name.  It was chosen because we were setting out to create heavy music with some groove, hence The Beast of Nod because our music makes you nod your head.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Because we’re weird AF and like torturing ourselves by writing and learning to play music that is borderline humanly impossible.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Nope.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Paul - Cannibal Corpse
Görebläster – Scale the Summit
Brendan – Emperor
Nate - Van Halen

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Almost anything and everything.  Physics, natural history, and science in general is a major inspiration.  Although the basic desire to be creative, express, and challenge oneself is at the core of it all.

6. Where was your last gig?

Cherry Street Station in Wallingford, CT. We played as part of a Death tribute night since it was Chuck Schuldiner's birthday. In addition to our regular set, we played Zombie Ritual.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Everywhere.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

All our favorite bands for sure but I think a show with Rings of Saturn, Animals as Leaders, and Berried Alive would be pretty damn cool.

9. Whom not?

Assholes and non-inclusive folk.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Nothing significant, although we all have our anxious times.  I’d say making sure you prepare/practice well and just get as much stage experience as possible.  After you’re on stage enough it just seems to become second nature, but certainly something that you get better with in time.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Too many to list. Our influences as individuals and as a band are extremely diverse, even just within metal.  In fact, when writing we attempt to only focus on what feels right for the song and story we’re writing about.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

$3.50

13. What do you think of your fans?

Not sure.  They’re probably weird like we are.

14. What do you think of our site?

Anything or anybody that help get new music into people’s ears is a good thing.  Dig it!

15. Something to add?

Full album release is May 21st and pre-sale links are already up!  We’ll also have the first issue of our comic, 360 stereoscopic 3D VR playthrough video and more coming out as well!
