Interviews: The Dahmers

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Punk/Rock band The Dahmers from Sweden. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We didn't have a name but already had a couple of shows booked so we needed a name fast. After some spit balling we just picked one of the suggestions and it kind of stuck.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

What genre? We don't see ourselves as followers of a specific genre. We play loud punk rock music with influences from all kinds of music and we do that because we like the freedom of not sticking to a specific genre.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Onkel Kånkel, Onkel Kånkel, Onkel Kånkel and Onkel Kånkel.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Just about anything. Good memories, bad memories, good movies, bad movies, good songs and bad songs, friends, enemies... In the end everything is cooked down to a horror influenced tale that ends up being a song.

6. Where was your last gig?

In Torun, Poland.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Everywhere

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

France Gall or Conway Twitty maybe

9. Whom not?

Most people

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No. We just try to have a good time playing music.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

All kinds of different bands and music. We all grew up with classic rock bands like Kiss, Status Quo and Thin Lizzy. In our early teens we discovered a lot of punk and hardcore music like Black Flag, Ramones and Misifts which also lead to heavier music. Besides that we also like good pop music with good melodies so bands like the Beatles and ABBA also had an impact on us. So it's to hard to name a few bands, we get inspired by music in general.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I don't know. Writing autographs is still weird so I guess that.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They're great!

14. What do you think of our site?

Never been there but I'm sure it's great.

15. Something to add?

Gunlög is a name and I like it.
