Interviews: The Ghost Friend

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Punk Rock band The Ghost Friend, from Italy. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or did it come out just like that? 

"The Ghost Friend" is a complicated sexual position. We talked about it one night drinking a beer together after rehearsals and we thought it was the perfect name for the band. If you want to find out how this position works, take a jump on our Facebook page!  

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

It’s the musical genre we grew up with and it formed our common background.  

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Giò, Pier and me met us when we were studying for the State exam to become lawyers. When we discovered that we were probably the only 3 lawyers in Turin that can play a musical instrument and that love punk-rock, we realized we had to create the band. We were without a drummer and after a few months of research we found the legendary Cecco.  

4. Each band member favorite band? 

Ste - Green Day

Giò - Nirvana

Pier - Social Distorsion

Cecco - Blink 182.  

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Our songs talk about ourselves, our experiences, the things that happen to us and the people we meet. We think that the only way to communicate something with music is by saying what you really think and feel.  

6. Where was your last gig? 

We played in Genova (Italy) at the Liggia, a very cool pub on the seashore.  

7. Where would you like to act? 

All around the world.  

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Royal Republic 

9. Whom not? 

We don’t want to play with any of the band belonging to the current Italian "spaghetti-indie" scene. We think it’s the result of commercial interests without content that can only be harmful for the musical world  

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

Giò once shitted on him just before going on stage, you have no idea of ​​the smell of shit that hovered! Our tips for beginners are: have fun and when you're on stage always give everything you have.  

11. What bands have you got the most? 

The bands of the American punk-rock scene of the 90s.  

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

After a concert a fan asked us: "Why did you decide to look like the Limp Bizkit?” …  

13. What do you think of your fans? 

They give meaning to what we do. We'll keep playing until there's at least one asshole in front of the stage clapping with us.  

14. What do you think of our site? 

It's a great reference point for the scene and an excellent showcase to discover new releases and good music.
