Interviews: Hybridreams

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metalcore/Progressive Metalcore band Hybridreams, from Canada. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It took a very long time for us to find a band name that somewhat sounded cool and was available. We probably had 10 different band names before going with Hybridreams but yeah , it pretty much just came to us like that.

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

We all love different kinds of music but Metal has always seem to be the genre that speaks the most , whether it's instrumentally or lyrically. I guess we could say that we find it more powerful than other genres.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Our clean vocalist Justin and guitar player Sam played music together throughout high school and they are pretty much the ones who gathered the rest of us up to try and do this band thing.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Sebastien (Drums): The contortionist

Sam (Guitar): Northlane

Ben (Unclean vocalist): Invent , animate

Justin (Clean vocalist): Slaves

Shil (Bass): Bon Iver

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Inspiration is something that can come to you at any time or any day really. That's what we like about Metalcore , we can write about whatever we feel like writing about. There's no boundaries whether we want to talk about something personal or something more general. 

6. Where was your last gig? 

Last gig we played was in our hometown of Ottawa ,Ontario ,Canada at Cafe Dekcuf with some of Quebec and Ontario's best bands. Huge shoutout to them (Feels like home , Loyalist , Horcrux , WKFLD. and The Courier) We had a blast and the venue was packed! 

7. Where would you like to act? 

A lot of our inspiration comes from Australia so i think it would be safe to say that it would be the place that we would all love to play one day. But aside from that we just want to be able to do what we love no matter where it is.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

I think this is the hardest question for any band ahaha. We all have different inspiration as we stated above but i think we would go for a band that sticks more to our identity and music. I would say Northlane/Invent , animate/Silent Planet/Issues. Yeah , touring with one of those names would be pretty cool.

9.Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I did! (Ben , Unclean vocalist) I remember almost leaving a venue because of stage fright. I had so much anxiety 5 minutes before our set that i almost left. But luckily for me i share the stage with my brother Justin who is our clean vocalist and i guess it just gave me the strength to pull through. As far as tips goes i would say just roll with it , as soon as the set starts there's nothing that can stop you.

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

I would have to say Northlane back when they had Adrian as a vocalist. We still love their music even though he is not in the band anymore but that's pretty much what got us going when we first started.

11. What do you think of our site?

We've been following you guys for a bit now and we have to admit that you guys do a great job of giving locals and non-local bands free promotion. It's always appreciated to see people who are dedicated to help smaller bands and giving them a chance to showcase what they have.

12. Something to add?

We released a brand new single called ''SPIRARE'' back in November of 2017 via Beheading the traitor. It is the first track that we released off of our upcoming EP ''Quintessence'' that should be out sometime in the summer of 2018.
