Interviews: From Inside

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metalcore band From Inside from UK. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I really wish there was a cool deep personal reason I could give you, but in truth we stumbled upon FROM INSIDE because we thought it sounded good to us.

It may or may not be obvious to people, but we took it from the Linkin Park song ‘From The Inside’. I think at one point we had a list of about 30 names we had all collected together to choose from and pretty much all of them were truly awful so it was a massive relief when we found something we could all get behind. “Stephen Hawking's Football Boots” was one of them haha.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We have all been in various bands in the UK scene in the past so for me personally, it’s something that has always came natural to me. I’m sure its the same with everyone else in the band because we have all been doing this long enough to prove we aren’t just jumping on any bandwagon.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I was in a previous band with Bam called ‘The Day Will Come’. After losing an old vocalist I was recommended to our Simon and instantly it felt like we was onto something. While writing music with Simon, it was then that we wanted to start up fresh as FROM INSIDE. Simon tattoos George and thats how we got him on board as our drummer.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Tough question! For me (Tom), I am currently really digging the new album by
The Word Alive.

Simon: Underoath
Bam: Evanescence
George: Architects

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

As I touched upon with where we got our band name, I still revisit the older Linkin Park albums ‘Hybrid Theory’ and ‘Meteora’ quite a lot. For most people of our generation those albums defined a lot of our childhoods and helped people get through a lot of shitty things that happens when you grow up. The goal of with FROM INSIDE is to make music that people can relate to and help them through hard times.

6. Where was your last gig?

We headlined Chester Live Festival a couple weeks ago. It was really sick.

7. Where would you like to play?

I think main stage at Download Festival is the end game for us.

8. Who would you like to support?

Probably someone like Slipknot. Not that we are that similar but you just know it would be the most insanely big crowd to play to.

9. Who not?

There’s no particular band I could say we don’t want to play with. Obviously there is some bands we wouldn’t be suited with, any sort of indie band or whatever.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I can’t speak for anyone else but personally it has never been a thing for me. I love performing on stage and the only emotion I feels are excitement and joy. To any beginners I would say just go for it! A single bad performance will never define your music career so go out there and have fun without any thoughts of failure holding you back.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bring Me The Horizon. Not necessarily to do with their music but being from England and of a similar age to them, it has just meant that I have followed them from the very start. I first saw them in a grotty bar in Liverpool called Heaven & Hell about 13/14 years ago and there must have been about 20 people in the crowd. It is truly inspiring to see a band push themselves to the level they are today and it gives hope to the rest of us.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I was once asked how many Maltesers I can fit in my mouth. That's pretty weird right?

13. What do you think of your fans?

We still consider ourselves a relatively new band so our feet are very much routed to the ground with everything. I think that just makes us that even more grateful for the support that we receive. Every message, comment, like or play we appreciate that extra bit more because we have no egos and no arrogance that certain bands may develop over time. We do our best to answer every message sent in to us on social media and hopefully it will always be like that.

14. What do you think of our site?

I think breathingthecore.com is awesome! If you love alternative music then Breathing The Core should be firmly in your internet bookmarks.

15. Something to add?
