Interviews: Rotten Mind

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Post-Punk/Punk band Rotten Mind from Sweden. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

We just thought it sounded good and fit the lyrics well too. Actually we didn’t think much at the time about this. 

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

It’s more like the genre came to us in a way, more than we picked a genre. It just happened to be what we listened to a lot at the time we started the band, and now it has obviously changed a bit and has gotten it’s own life in a way. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Yes. All of us played in local punk bands and hung out before we started this band. So we knew each other from that. Me and Victor actually went to school together as well. 

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Jakob: Ramones

Johan: The Adverts

Rune: Henry Fiats Open Sore

Victor: Nightmen. 

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Listening to music is what inspires me ofcourse. But also lyric wise, I can get inspiration from anywhere. I write about what I experience in my life. The new album is a lot about the life in Uppsala and how the city is nowadays. 

6. Where was your last gig? 

Debaser in Stockholm. 

7. Where would you like to perform? 

Everywhere! I want to go to new places ofcourse. We’ve only been in europe and australia, so there’s a lot left to see. 

8. Whom would you like to perform with? 

Ramones. Best band. 

9. Whom not? 

Any kind of racist bullshit band. 

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I still get a little nervous sometimes. It will never disapear. But I guess my only tip is to just do it. That’s what I do at least. 

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

In Rotten Mind we’ve been inspired by a lot of old swedish bands like Cortex, Imperiet, Garbochock etc. But also a lot by Joy Division, Gun Club, Lords of The New Church and the likes of that. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

My autograph. What’s the deal with that? 

13. What do you think of your fans? 

They’re crazy. Absolutely perfect. We always have a good time hanging with people.
