Interviews: Weather King

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Alternative Rock band Weather King from USA. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?   

The name of our band was probably the most unoriginal process ever, we were sitting in a circle eating chips and i looked at the bass drum head and was kinda like “How about Weather King?”  

2.Why did you want to play this genre?   

We all share a love for progressive rock and punk / experimental music.   

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?   

Yes, we went to a music school called School of Rock, so that’s how we met.  

4. Each band member favourite band?   

Trent - The Mars Volta 

Jack - Closure in Moscow 

Andy - Coheed and Cambria 

Ian - Tame Impala 

Maya - No Doubt  

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?   

We write songs based on past stories, relationships, and experiences. whether they happened to we want them to happen.   

6. Where was your last gig?   

Our last show was in Houston for SpringBoard South, it was a ton of fun.   

7. Where would you like to act?   

Europe would be super fun and a great experience but it’s always been my (maya) dream to perform at Coachella.   

8. Whom would you like to feature with?   

I think Royal Blood would be a good fit, but personally (maya) i would love to play with Haim.   

9. Whom not?   

At this point we aren’t picky.   

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?   

I’m genuinely a very shy person. I plan how i’m going to present myself on stage. When i was little i performed in front of stuffed animals so it was like the real thing.   

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Probably the Mars Volta or Fair to Midland. Our  old instructor at the School of Rock was the lead vocalist for Fair to Midland so he’s inspired us greatly to do what we’ve done.   

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?   

Someone asked for my bassist number through me (maya) so that was an awkward experience and she just happens to be an upper class man at my high school.   

13. What do you think of your fans?   

We came together and started playing music that you don’t hear often, so when people come up to us at our show or comment on our instagram and understand what we do, we really appreciate it.   

14. What do you think of our site?  

I like how you can keep up with new and current bands and seeing what’s going on in the music scene.   

15. Something add?
