Interviews: Autumnus

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metalcore/Hardcore band Autumnus from USA. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It's based on the Reflections song of the same name. Their album The Color Clear is a great reflection of the way we were feeling during the record's writing process, so in that regard our music is very personal to us. Art reflects life and vice versa.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We just LOVE metal. <3 font="">

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Yeah! We've been friends since playing together in the music scene. Rudi, our drummer, is the latest addition socially, but we're all homies. It really makes things a lot easier since we're basically skipping the stage of getting comfortable around each other.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

The Plot in You (Jakoby), Veil of Maya, Purity Ring, Born of Osiris, Chelsea Grin, PVRIS (Josh), Dance Gavin Dance, Agent Fresco (Kirk), Reflections, Tiny Moving Parts (Makun), Volumes, Intervals, Traitors, The Acacia Strain (Rudi)

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Music is a huge part of our lives, and is a major way to work through emotions and feelings.

6. Where was your last gig?

For Jakoby and Makun's old band Empyrean, the last gig they played was at Real Art Tacoma. For Kirk and Josh in Thread the Sky, it was at the Funhouse opening for Giraffes? Giraffes! Rudi recently played a local festival in Graham called Grahamstock.

7. Where would you like to act?

Everywhere! World tours would be the dream.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Northlane, Architects, Issues, Slaughter to Prevail, and Oceano!

9. Whom not?    

Nobody lol

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Josh: I get stomach knots, so I make sure my diet the day of a show isn't literal trash.

Makun: You gotta regulate your poops, man.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Northlane, Structures, Alpha Wolf, Greeley Estates

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Jakoby: Someone asked me if I would wear the merch they wanted before they bought it.

Makun: This guy wanted a signature on a hat so sweaty you couldn't write on it.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

Jakoby: Fans are what keep us going. For me, if someone relates to our music and it helps them, that's why I write music in general. Music saved me and I want to give that to others as well.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's pretty dope, but processor heavy? Lots of stuff loads at once haha!
