Interviews: Dayshifter

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Dayshifter from UK. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name came after a previous band we were involved in ended. To us, the band name stands for change, similar to how night turns into day, everything around you is always changing and moving.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We've always been drawn into the Heavy / Alternative music scene, and we want the music we create to be as raw and honest as possible. The aggressive, yet melodic, sound we have is a staple of this.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

As stated before we had played in other bands together prior to 'Dayshifter'.

4. Each band member favourite band?

We're always changing up what we listen to, but right now everyone in the band is really into Post Malone's latest release.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Life in general, the experiences we go through as individuals as we age and grow; we want our music to be as honest as possible.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was a local one, as support of Oceans Ate Alaska and Kingdom of Giants. Our next shows will be with Greyhaven UK in September.

7. Where would you like to act?

We're happy to play everywhere and anywhere; our goal is to play in as many new places as physically possible — especially places outside of the UK, such as main land Europe, or the US.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There's a lot of people we'd love to feature on our music, the main ones would be: Chris Roetter, Trevor Wentworth, Ahren Stringer, Lucas Woodland & Charlotte Jayne.

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I don't think any of us have suffered stage fright; we're most comfortable when performing. If I had to offer any advice on the subject, I'd say bring your self confidence to stage with you; if this is something you truly love, then stage fright won't stop you.

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bands like: Counterparts, Architects, Like Moths to Flames and Our Last Night. These kinds of bands are super hard working, while still being really humble and down to earth.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We're still at the point where even people asking us to take photos is still a very new and weird feeling; we love it, but it feels far too surreal.

12. What do you think of your fans?

We'll always be eternally grateful to anyone that appreciates what we're doing and supports us as a band.
