Interviews: Misty Eyed

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview  the  Alternative Rock/Rock band Misty Eyed from USA. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We kept coming up with name ideas, but couldn’t all seem to agree. So we each came up with a few options and voted anonymously.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We all grew up listening to this genre and we all pulled together from different places, and put it all together to create a sound that we like.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The guys all knew each other and had been in projects before, starting with John and Wes, who then met Zach, and eventually Megan met John and he pulled her into the group as well.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Megan’s favorite band is Twenty One Pilots because of their uniqueness and their lyrics, John’s is Led Zeppelin because of the musical combinations they put together, Wes’ is Tool because that’s where he draws the most inspiration for bass, and Zach’s is Volbeat because it was his first concert and the band that got him into metal and into drumming.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It’s a great way to cope with emotions and the environment around us.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played our first major rock festival and our first out of state show at Blue Ridge Rock Fest in Concord, Virginia.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We all think of this differently. Maybe working with someone who would push us to be better with our instrument or just someone we look up to. Maybe with Nothing More or Incubus.

10. Have any of you have ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Zach always thought about it as a form of release, so he never really dealt with it. Everyone else has just got up and faced it head on and focused on moving forward. So at this point we don’t really think of it and we find it more empowering than anything, that these people are here to see us and it’s encouraging. Some advice would be to just be confident in your abilities and your product and keep going, no matter what. Just breathe and try to relax.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We take a lot of different types of artists and try to pull influence from all of them. From bands like Alice in Chains and Metallica, to artists like Panic! At the Disco and even Griz.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

The guys have had girls ask for a kiss and even a date, Megan had a guy ask for her number and once had a fan give her a mask and ask her to wear it on stage, which was more cool than weird.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Usually our fans are really awesome and encouraging.

There’s a lot of really cool bands to check out!
