Interviews: The Wingman

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview  the Rock band The Wingman from Italy. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We were trying to book the rehearsing room but we had to give a name for our band. So we came up with “The Wingman” because Umberto, the singer, had a t-shirt with that name written on it.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Actually we didn’t think about it. We got the inspiration from different music that we listen to and songs just came out.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we were all schoolmates that shared the passion for music and football.

4. Each band member favourite band?

We have common favorite artists: Oasis, U2, Radiohead and Red Hot Chili Peppers. And of course the old classic Rolling Stones and Beatles.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Genuine love for the music itself is our only source of inspiration.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was last Sunday when we played inside a beautiful Venetian villa during the local festival.

7. Where would you like to act?

Our secret dream is to play our music for Cheryl Waters’ Radio KEXP in Seattle.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We’d love to share the stage with the people from Wilco and The National. But even a gig with Spanish band Doctor Explosion could be a great experience, because we think they are awesome!

9. Whom not?

We think that playing in the same stage of Yoko Ono wouldn’t be a nice experience for us!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No, we feel pretty comfortable on stage because it’s our safe zone, where we can just be ourselves. Anyway a good tip for beginners could be: just don’t care about it and play your music and everything will be fine.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

U2, Coldplay, Radiohead, Wilco and Oasis have inspired us the most.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Recently a fan asked us to play in her living room. We are still thinking about it!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are very special, they follow us everywhere and they keep on supporting us in every project we do.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site is very interesting: actually we appreciated your section for music labels. It’s something that you don’t see in every site!
