Interviews: The Rooftop Rebellion

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band The Rooftop Rebellion  from USA. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We were looking for something nostalgic from our childhood. Born and raised in Brooklyn staring at a sea of rooftops seemed to be a theme we wanted to capture.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Flexibility for sure. As musicians this genre allows us to pull from any influence, from metal to blues to Rock and create a sound unique as well as a mix of music we grew up on.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Scott, James and Mike know each other 20 plus years and have been writing together on various projects over 10 years, We all meet Ponz in the mid 2000s from the music scene in Brooklyn and have been friends ever since.

4. Each band member favourite band?
Scott: Pink Floyd
James: Iron Maiden
Mike: Billy Joel
Ponz: Volbeat

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Everything from any genre of music, most of what we write we try to use our influences throughout life, past and present. It’s important to us to portray what we are feeling through every chord and lyric.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played a pretty cool venue called The Hideout in Bay ridge Brooklyn with our Friends in Tempest City. Local spot, they do some really cool local shows there.

7. Where would you like to act?

Being From New York Madison Square Garden is a place that definitely is appealing. New York City has so many awesome venues we would love to play as well.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

It would be pretty awesome to tour with a band like the Foo Fighters. They have been very inspirational throughout the music scene and would be cool to share a stage with them.

9. Whom not?

We would play with anyone to be honest. Getting out and playing music
is what its all about.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Every show, the beauty of playing live is the butterfly’s you get before the band strikes the first chord. We would say it’s not something to beat but something to embrace. Having the stage freight and butterflies shows you care about what you are doing. Get through the first verse and enjoy the ride.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Many musical icons throughout history have been important to us for sure. Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Zakk Wylde, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Alkaline Trio, Type O Negative, The Gaslight Anthem and some Tenacious D to name a few.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We haven’t been asked anything to crazy yet. We are looking forward to meeting you at a show and being asked something weird.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Love them. Any support is greatly appreciated and being able to share songs we have written it means a lot to us. Keep on listening we will always keep writing.

14. What do you think of our site?

Great idea to have a place where people can discover bands from all around the world.
