Interviews: Two Years Break

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Two Year Break from UK. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Two Year Break is exactly what it says on the tin! Charlie, Dan and George had a little bit of a break from music for a couple of years after making a string of terrible songs in the early days, but came back to it and the name just stuck after discussing it during their first session back in the studio. We know, great story!

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It's taken us a few years to get to this point, we've changed our style a bit recently since Brad joined the band, this was the style of music that we all used to listen to growing up as teenagers (bands like You Me At Six, Blink 182, Green Day, etc) so wanted to bring some of that into our sound. That and the fact that we are getting old and wanted to re-live our youth!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us did, George and Charlie were in the same year at school and after meeting Dan through a friend have been playing music together for years.

Brad went to the same school as Charlie and George but is a few years younger and hadn’t joined the band until earlier this year.

Tony and Charlie met online...

4. Each band member favourite band?

Brad - Wage War
Charlie - Blink 182
Tony - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Dan - The Xcerts
George - Biffy Clyro

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We tend to write based on our experiences and past, good and bad. We like the challenge of taking the negative subjects and writing them in a positive light (sometimes) and try to make them as catchy as possible! You'll hear this theme on our future EP due for release in 2019.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was a local festival in our home town at the Havering Show on the Fairkykes stage. They really support local acts and it was great to play in front of a big crowd of friends and family.

7. Where would you like to act?

We've wanted to play Slamdunk Festival for ages, the lineup is always great with bands we love to listen to so would be cool to play alongside them. Especially now Warped Tour is no more.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Of course everyone would want to play with the big guys on huge stages, but nothing would be better than playing with some of our current favourites such as Mallory Knox, Don Broco, Sleep On It, The Xcerts, and many more.

9. Whom not?

There's a few we can think of…

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We all believe that stage fright is a normal thing for a lot of people, but it’s important to remember that just having the confidence to get up on stage and perform your chosen art earns respect of your audience.  You need to remember that you are part of a small number of people in the world who are talented enough and confident enough to play in front of people, and that’s pretty cool.

The more you do it the better you get at it!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Pretty much as we said above, the bands we have listened to growing up who have especially influenced our newer style.

Bands such as Blink 182, Green Day, You Me At Six etc. These guys are the reason why we picked up our instruments in the first place!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We believe some female fans asked us to play a naked show once, or was that a dream...?

13. What do you think of your fans?

I know it’s a cliche, but our fans are the best fans in the world. When you’re on stage and you see the same people each time singing back the songs you’ve grafted so hard to make and appreciating the music you make, that’s pretty special!

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it’s a pretty cool site. It’s obvious from when you first enter the home page that this is a place that just loves new music and has a real appetite for finding quality artists. The amount of talent on show throughout the site is amazing and we are happy to have been given the opportunity to express our story through this interview for the site.

15. Something add?

Once again we would like to say thank you for the opportunity to do this interview.

We will leave you with a link to our new music video for our latest single ‘Change My Mind’.. hope you enjoy!
