Interviews About Albums: Voragine Of Autumn - Aphelion (2018)

1. What can you say about this new Album?

"Aphelion" is our first album. It is the result of a long time working between sound search, line-up changes and some other changes of rehearsal room. We decided to record the album as a trio, waiting for including a guitarist without knowing that, after years out of the band, “Nativo Pagano” will return to band. "Aphelion" is an important album for us because it draws a sound line where we mix our Black Metal/Dark Metal/Progressive Metal/ Folk influences, which gives a dark, heavy, melancholic and eclectic sound. The songs are long-lasting but with little repetitive structures. The lyrics are focused on existentialism; sometimes the vocal lines are completely direct and in others they are metaphors based on nature.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

"Aphelion" is the point in the orbit of an object where it is farthest from the Sun. We think that it is the closest term to the existential lyrics of songs, the questioning of being.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Most of the songs were the ideas of S.Ulv, as well as the collaboration and musical arrangements of Alex on bass and Krono on drums, we gave shape to "Aphelion". Special mention to “Nativo Pagano” in the "Those Clouds", which is a song which that was composed mostly when he was in his first pass by VoA before his departure.

4. If you have to pick one song, which one would you pick?

It’s a difficult choice. We like all the tracks on the album, but if we must choose one, it is what gives the name to our album: “Aphelion”.

5. Which inspirations haven been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thanks specially?

For this album, the most important inspiration has been the moods of each
one of us, and the personal life experiences of us. Our Most Sincere Thanks to our Families, our girlfriends for their constant support and patience in this long process, our friends, past members of Voragine of Autumn, bands that we share stage , Fernando Rojas & Sin Futuro IlustraciĂłn, Justin Weis & Trakworx Studio, and to everyone who has interested and contributed to make and release the album. The webzines than promote emerging music. A few mentioned, nobody forgotten.
