Interviews: Chaising Daisy

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Rock band Chaising Daisy from France. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Actually, we spent a lot of time looking for a band name, we did about thirty proposals, but nothing suited us. We decided to submit to our first listeners a vote with two differents names.

In the end, we are pleased that Chasing Daisy had been chosen because this name fits us well: it represents our differents facets: something raw, dark and graceful.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We wanted to compose songs that integrate both our current influences but also all the music that had given us this passion about rock music since we were children.

Our musical tastes are relatively close, it helped the composition and strongly oriented our artistic direction.

Our first intentions were to mix, pop, rock, punk, post hardcore universe and we do not exclude to integrate in a near future other influences like rap, electronic music or even jazz music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us were friends since school, but Marion and Raph joined the band few years after the early beggining of Chasing Daisy.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Alex : Hands Like Houses
Thomas : Billy Talent
Marion : Incubus
Snoozy: Architects
Raph : Queen

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It's hard to identify our sources of inspiration. I guess it comes out like that, probably depending on the mood of the moment. Usually, we primarily compose the singing, since Thomas as a voice we really want to highlight. We build around this all the instrumental parts and the melody according to what it inspires us.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was two weeks ago in Paris at “The Quartier General”. We were invited by a friend we met when we did an halloween gig at Marion’s place in 2017.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to play all over the world, in every bar, pub, concert place that will like our universe and would give us the chance to share it with the public.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We love to integrate some feats on our shows.

Lot of our friends are great vocalists / screamers so when they come see us they’re welcome to take the mic on stage with us !

Don Broco would be a great band to feature with !

9. Whom not?

It’s not our spirit to refuse a featuring, but some arrangements could be necessary. For us, everything is possible !

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

All of us have a different experience of being on stage. But I’d say that gathering all of us before going on stage, exchange eyecontacts and smiles help us to feel more confident. We really try to feel the moment together and with the public.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We are very inspired by bands bringing modernity to the current rock scene :
BMTH / Our last night / You me at six / Young guns / Hands like houses and older bands like Papa roach / Foo fighters.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

One of our fan really suggested to tour us in Iraq with all inclusive.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are really proud of being supported and encouraged by our fans! They are really importants for us, and we often ask their opinion on some decisions about the projects of Chasing Daisy.

14. What do you think of our site?

We have a deep respect for people acting to maintain rock scene alive ! Personally, I love to discover new talents, we're following many websites to keep inform. You’re giving to bands like us a chance to have more visibility and we are really grateful for that !

15. Something to add?

We’re currently working on new stuffs (records, covers, lives, clip...).
We're really excited to share with you the results of this hard work :-)
