Interviews: Crystallized

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Trash  Metal band Crystallized from Mexico. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Sebastian here. I've always been fascinated by gemstones and crystals, but it came out just like that, so it's kind of both at the same time.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

First I started composing some kind of thrash/power metal, but then I started to explore the more extreme kinds of music, so I said "well, I can do that my own way, and you can notice the songs kinda jump from one genre to another, it's really fun to play".

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We have been trying to do this thing for a while, the band came through several transformations, genre, name, etc. so we knew each other before actually trying to make some music, and it helped to increase our bond.

4. Each band member favourite band?

If you haven't noticed yet, our biggest influence is Carcass, but as for the likings of each member they are very diverse and everyone contriutes qith something different. Cesar has a liking for progressive metal and black metal, such as The Faceless, Abbath, Rings Of Saturn, Falujah. Daniel lays on a more classic death metal, like Death, Nile, Leviathan, with some classical guitar as well. Matus pretty much likes everything that has a good sound, Deathklok is his main metal influence, and as for Sebastian (that's me), I lay on many bands, Iced Earth, Helloween, Gorefest, even The Doors, but well, it's just the peak of all that inspires us to write music.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The writting it's quite diverse as well, one song we can be talking about the consecuences to the environment for our stupidity as mankind, the other song we can talk about vampires, pretty much struggles in life and fiction stories, sometimes convined.

6. Where was your last gig?

Last time we played was in our hometown, like 3 months ago or so, we haven't played too much since then, not because of the recordings, but well, let's hope our presentation card helps that out.

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere, we love playing in different places, going to different cities. we haven't traveled that much, but, man, it's an amazing feeling.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Carcass, period. I mean, there's lots of amazing bands, but Carcass gave birth to Crystallized, so, what would be more amazing than that?

9. Whom not?

We've been playing with many different bands that we noticed it's not about who you play with, but to focus on your own thing and do the best... nah, just kidding, Avenged Sevenfold and shit like that.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We all have, everyone has at least once or twice. The best tip is to be confident, if you're there already it means you can rip heads already, so do it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The main influences for Crystallized are Carcass (did I mention?), Death, Gorefest, Helloween, Iced Earth, Dethklok, even Iron fucking Maiden

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Covers

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are amazing, they always support us and they've been waiting for the album actually for 2 years, so now we just need to make the physical copies to thank them all, and to everyone that likes what we do out there. Thank you, sincerely. doing something that you love and how you actually love it is not always good received, so, thank you.

14. What do you think of our site?

They like us, but they won't invite us to play in the local gigs, well... I gues 10 bands with the exact same sound it's better for them.

15. Something add?

We actually recorded some of our songs. We are almost done with the composing of the 2nd album so if you like what we are doing expect more to come... We're not done ripping souls yet.
