Interviews: Dark Sky Park

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Rock band Dark Sky Park from UK. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We were watching a TV News article about dark sky parks and thought “oooh, good name for a band, that!”

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We didn't choose a genre, we just make music we'd like to hear. People often find it hard to categorise us, but we see that as a positive thing because we like to bring lots of influences on board.3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? Debs and Ains have known each other for a few years. Jai is a recent addition, but fits in perfectly.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Tricky! It changes! Debs' would be Ziggy Stardust, but that could at least in part explained by her fancying the pants off a young David Bowie! Ainsley's would be Black Sabbath or ABBA. He can't decide. Jai's is 5 Finger Death Punch, for certain.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Lyrically, things which piss us off! Bad relationships, flaky friends.... Anything you'd have a drunken rant about really!

6. Where was your last gig?

The Mulberry Tavern in Sheffield.
7. Where would you like to play?

Sheffield Arena would be nice and convenient! Seriously though, anywhere with a great crowd!

8. Who would you like to support?

This month: Queen!

9. Who not?

Ed Sheeran.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yeah, Debs does. Gin is the answer apparently, although she can't remember the question.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Jai has always been a big, big Metallica fan and they mean a lot to him. Debs is very inspired by the courage and the ability of Tina Turner. Ainsley admires guitarists who do what they do beautifully year after year even if no one thinks they're fashionable! Brian May, Michael Schenker and Peter Frampton fit that bill nicely!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Ainsley: to sign her boots, or so he though. It turns out that it was a pair of something which sounds like “boots”.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Lively, happy music-loving nutbars. We'd love more!

14. What do you think of our site?

Really cool and full of awesome music which needs to go further.

15. Something to add?

Can we go to the toilet now please?
