Interviews: MASSFACE

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock/Rock band MASSFACE  from Russia. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1 Where did u get the idea for the band name, u planned it or came out just like that? 

That band name appeared when our guitarists were on vacation in London. 

It was 2013. We wanted to create a simple and capacious word that doesn’t exist but is made of several parts that describe our point of perception on what we are as a music band. We wanted to represent something bold, massive, something that has huge amount of edges, faces. 

So after couple of pints in a pub we were going down the street and created that name. Massface. Word doesn’t exist, short, capacious and easy to find in social media. Bingo! 

2. Why did u want to play this genre? 

Since we were children we loved alternative rock music. To be honest we haven’t even asked ourselves about genre – it simply came from inside. 

3. Did u know each other before the band was formed? 

No, we have met each other within band formation. Nevertheless we can’t mention that beside band we really are good friends and we like not only making music together but hanging out too.

4. Each band member favorite band? 

Ivan: Deftones, Karnivool, P.O.D., Tesseract, A Perfect Circle 

5. Who or what inspires you to write song? 

Life that flows through us and surrounds us. 

6. Where was your last gig?

Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Taubertal festival, Germany

7. Where would you like to act? 

We've got in a plans on a future to make an european tour. But if we can to choose non-european countries it will be USA and Japan.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Karnivool, Tool, Dead Letter Circus, Mike Shinoda, BMTH, A Perfect Circle.

9. Whom not? 

There are no artists that we don't wanna feature with. We are always ready to make some experiments and explore new sound.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for begginers on how to beat that? 

This sometimes happens, especially before performances at major festivals. We can give only one piece of advice: just go and do it. On stage, the brain abstracts from fears and problems; only the pleasure of living sound and everything that happens around remains.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Karnivool, Tool, Dead Letter Circus, Linkin Park, BMTH. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Fan from facebook asked to get married her! 

13. What do you think of your fans? 

You, two guys, are the best! We love you!

14. What do you think of our site? 

It's a question about web-site? Black and white, pretty stylish. Waiting for a news about MASSFACE.

15. Something add? 

We're very happy and proud to join such a big musician family. We'll do our best to meet expectations. And hope for a fantastic result from cooperation with Sliptrick Records.
