Interviews: UNSSEN FAITH

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metalcore/Deathcore band UNSSEN FAITH from Denmark. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Well, “Boys ll Men” was already taken so we needed something else and then the name, Unseen Faith was the next best thing. The name “Unseen Faith” originates from the idea that everybody’s foundation, like beliefs or faith, is rooted deep within us. Even when it isn’t visible, it’s still there. I think it can be helpful for all humans to figure out what’s hidden within oneself and try to explore that. In our band we have found common ground in our christian faith. I know it’s not the coolest thing to say in the metal scene, but it’s something we can’t deny. Our debut album “Waver” is about the good and the tough parts of faith, doubts and how challenging it can be to figure out what to belief yourself and not just take on someone else’ opinion.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Because it’s cool!? Deathcore got the brutality and metalcore got the harmonies. We began as a straight up metalcoreband, but plane metalcore isn’t as interesting as it used to be. Guess you can say the same about deathcore, haha! But we try to find the right blend. Our next album will be a bit heavier than “Waver” was.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yeah, friends first. This line up has been together for 5 years now. It can be a challenge to be friends and colleges at the same time, but we do our best to be professionals and friends when needed. We wouldn’t still be a band if it wasn’t for our friendship.

4. Each band member favourite band?

What an awesome opportunity for me to inform you that Alexander, Jakob, Klaus and Christian all LOVE Britney Spears! Thanks for asking.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It’s a bit ironic that the hardest part for us is to write lyric cause all songs starts with an emotion or some feelings that we try to put into rhythms and notes. Music is expressions of emotions that you as an artist have interpreted.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last big gig was support for Thy Art Is Murder in Sarajevo, Bosnia, but our latest show was in Copenhagen with our brothers from Cabal.

7. Where would you like to act?

Red Rock Theater in Denver, Colorado but I don’t think that any metalbands has played there yet. But it might be the worlds most gorgeous venue!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I’m sure that the other guys would say Britney Spears but I think Sam Carter would fit us better.

9. Whom not?

Trump!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think we’re all a bit nervous before a show. Especially if we haven’t played in one or two months. It gets better in time but remember to not lash it out on each other. You are in this together and need to support each another. Rehearse as a group, but don’t forget to practice on your own.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Some of the bands we often talk about is Thy Art Is Murder, Architects and then the older stuff from Northlane.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A guy in Germany wanted to arm-wrestle our drummer after a show. That was weird but also extremely fun and everybody was watching while the two of them did it right at the merch table. Our drummer won!

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are awesome! We love to talk with them after shows and are so thankful for their support!

14. What do you think of our site?

Breathing the Core is doing a great job of promoting bands. Thanks for giving us this platform to share our music!
